Hardeep's Sunday LunchOn Sunday 14th January 2018, Jasvinder appeared on Hardeep’s Sunday Lunch on BBC Radio 4, talking to Hardeep Singh Kohli about her life.

From the BBC Radio 4 website:

Jasvinder Sanghera is the founder of Karma Nirvana, a charity which offers services and support to young women and men who are victims of ‘honour’ based abuse and forced marriage. At the age of seventeen she ran away from home to avoid a forced marriage herself and was, as a result, disowned by her family. But the biggest turning point in her life came when her sister – Robina – killed herself after feeling trapped in an abusive marriage. This unhappy death eventually led to the foundation of the charity. When Jasvinder’s daughter Natasha met and fell in love with a man from a Sikh background, Jasvinder was fearful that his family would not accept her because Jasvinder was disowned and had run away from home.

As Hardeep cooks with the family, he hears from Jasivnder and Natasha and her husband about how life has come full circle for them and what it means to Jasvinder to re-discover her roots through the graciousness of her daughter’s new family.
